History:

A hairless kitten showed up as a natural mutation in a moggie litter in Ontario, Canada. A Siamese breeder took the kitten and developed the breed. The CFA gave the breed provisional status but then revoked it. The CCFF recognized the breed in 1971, and now the breed is more widely accepted.
