The first Ragdolls were bred in America by a woman named Ann Baker who had a placid long-haired cat named Josephine, Her kittens would relax when picked up, going limp like a Ragdoll. This breed was created by selecting for temperment only in early generations and later for colors.

Description:

The Ragdoll is a very affectionate and relaxed breed with a quiet voice. It has a thick coat that does not mat.
