Maine Coon

Real Life
Standards:
History:
A natural breed from Maine.  Their name comes from the bands on their tails (originally, most Maine Coons were tabbies).  Many legends surrond the breed, including breedings between cats and racoons (an impossibility) or that they descended from Marie Antoinette's cat.
Description:
Maine Coons are outgoing, playful, and active.  They are excellent hunters and companions, and they need a lot of room to explore and play.  They mature slowly but grow into one of the largest of cat breeds.
