This file is based on an animal created for a story I wrote.
Called Prucroca by the natives, this 500 lb top carnivore is a relict species that lives in the Andes, unknown to the rest of the world. Its closest relative is Order Crocodilia. This creature, however became specialized for life as a top carnivore in the mountains, taking on the shape and mannerisms of a large cat. Its plush coat most closely resembles down, but likely evolved independently of bird feathers. Much of this animal's physiology and social structure remains unknown.
Discovered by an eccentric zoologist, one animal (later named Ruth) was smuggled to the United States and kept chained in a basement. Her life and the future of the entire species rests on the choices of the few people who come in contact with her.
